I reinstalled the old v11.7 and it works fine... except for those crashes referred to earlier.

Duh, I should have just checked the permissions for Firefox which can get on line. They are the same as Avant/YBrowser.

Re: Can Not Get On Line

Open your firewall program - remove any avant.exe and ybrowser.exe entries then try again - you should find that you will get a prompt to allow it access. Greetings again Kudos... I'm using Outpost and I already tried that... and when Avant and YBrowser firewall prompts came up, I gave them full pe...

Can Not Get On Line

I just installed the latest version and it's dead. I can't get to ANY site though I was able to get here 15 minutes ago with the old version, and I can suft with Firefox so it's not the firewall or the router. I checked the Firewall settings, even shut it down... and still no luck. This has never ha...

Now I remember. I installed that latest version on my old PC when my new one was down for a few days. Sorry about the rash rush to judgement.

Re: Crash Crash Crash

My apologies... I was SURE that I installed one of the 2010 versions just a few weeks ago because I wanted that multiprocess tab feature. But I just installed the latest version and see that I could not have. My version was about a year old. Duh! But now that I have the latest version... I can't get...

Crash Crash Crash

I'm using v11.7 build 35 and while I thought creating separate processes for each tab would make Avant more stable, it seems to crash at least once a day. It's all the more frustrating because in the past two days as I did some research in other tabs, these crashes TWICE deleted extensive posts I wa...

STOP DELETING OLD SETTINGS!!!!!!!!!

I've been using Avant for a couple years now and I love it. But what I really HATE with a passion is that when I update, most of my settings are lost. My shortcuts and adblocker settings are there but just about everything else is reset to default. Do I really remember what skin I used when I last u...

Text Resizer Fails At This Site

Is this a bug? Not sure. Feel free to move it to a more appropriate forum. One of the reasons I use Avant is because it permits me to resize text that IE can not. I don't think Avant does as good a job as the Mozilla method... sometimes there's odd spaces between letters, but it's always worked.... ...

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the issue described in this thread . A workaround is to right-click on the tab and choose Duplicate . Thanks for responding. Guess I was not interested in a workaround but knowing if this is a known bug... and it seems to be. A browser has to be able to perform sim...

Disappearing Scroll Bar....

I had this intermittent problem with an older version and it's still here with latest build 30.

At times the scroll bar just never appears on the right side. If it happens in a window... reloading a page will not fix the problem.

Is this a known issue?

ROTF: Being Gaslighted By The Avant Ad Blocker

I was trying to access this site: http://www.bannermancastle.org/ and I got nothing. This site would not display pictures: http://www.hudsonvalleyruins.org/yasinsac/bannerman/bannerman.html I checked the source code to make sure they were real sites then tried it in Mozilla. Both sites displayed cor...

Re: A known issue

That's a known issue The temporary workaround is Add entries to your Hosts file Something like this 127.0.0.1 http://servedby.advertising.com Sorry for the long delay. I just got the newest Avant build and the ad blocker still does not always work... even with the local host IP added. I've tried al...

FTP bug..... or config issue?

Since I always use Avant as my first choice in browsers I was baffled why this ftp page ftp://data.massgis.state.ma.us/pub/wave/coqhsid/east/ would not function. There was no right click options to download any of the files. Then I tried some other browsers such as IE and Mozilla. The pages work the...

Problems With Ad Blocker

Ad Blocker seems to work reasonably well without my adding any URLs. But there are times where it just refuses to work. Take this page... http://www.imdb.com/find?q=the%20corporation;tt=on;nm=on;mx=20 It's typically running at least two big banners that are not blocked. One I'm getting now is http:/...

ZOOMING and PULL DOWN MENUS

When ever I use the zoom feature... it prevents Javascript pulldown menus from operating.... and continues to do so ever after returned to 100%.... here's an example: http://www.chipchapin.com/CDMedia/art-recspeed.php3

Has this problem been fixed in later builds?

Re: What features do you like in other browsers?

Hi guys i wanted to ask what kind of features do you like in other browsers/addons like Firefox, opera (**** maybe netscape), Slimbrowser, Maxthon, crazybrowser and others. I love the text resizing function in Mozilla.... and prefer it to the zoom feature in Avant. I also use the mht archiving func...

Renaming the exe worked just fine.... thanks. As for updating... unless there's some bug I can't live with, I'll stick with 131 for a while and wait for a version with some new features.
