Portable e-mail client that's like T-bird

Post by hornakapopolis » Mon Jul 30, 2007 1:01 pm

Does anyone know of a portable e-mail client, or one that can be made portable that allows some of the same functions (mainly multiple inboxes, although I guess that's not that important, and spam filtering) as Thunderbird?

Thunderbird's interface is just too slow on my work and home computers.

That was one I looked at, too.

The nice thing about that one is that it's tiny. But it doesn't really separate different accounts. However, since it is so tiny, it's almost worth keeping 4 different versions of it and have them run separate accounts.

Thanks for the reply, though, too. I've been surprised that it's so hard to find something that fulfills this need... ofr free, that is.

Have you upgraded T-bird to version 2? I found it faster then 1.5. You have to download the installer to update 1.5, the auto-install thing won't do it for some reason...

Yeah, I'm on 2.

I've just never had good interface speed on Firefox or Thunderbird. I've liked THunderbird so much that I've been willing to put up with it, but lately, I've been doing so much multi-tasking that it's just becoming a pain. I read something in their knowledgebase where they acknowledge that the interface design is inherently slower that other programs, but it allows for easier design of add-ons and extensions.
