I'll try the beta just for the heck of it..

Edit: I'm not impressed. Don't like the idea of paying for a browser, either.

I think that Opera is the best from "Not IE Based" browsers

But still I like Avant Browser much more than Opera

Roba,

I'm curious... could you answer a question for me? Why exactly are you here at the Avant Browser Support Forum promoting a competitor's browser?

You know, we don't have anything against Opera or any other browser. As a matter of fact, I have Opera and FF and Netscape on my system along with Avant and Dr. Orca. However, I don't go to Opera's community forums and promote Avant. Nor do I go to Mozillazine to discuss the advantages of Dr. Orca.

See what I'm trying to say here?

I'm here because I am an avant user myself. There are those sites that require it. And Avant is packed with most of the features opera has, so when I use it, I don't have to change my browsing habits. I think Avant is a great IE-plugin. If I loved the IE Engine, I guarantee you I would use Avant full time. But I'm not, so I'm an opera user 95% of the time. An Avant user 4% of the time and other browsers 1% of the time. I have a website, and my site manager doesn't work in opera. So I have to use Avant more than you think.

Well, I understand what you're saying. However, I still find it somewhat disturbing that you cheer so loudly for a competitor's browser on our forum. On most other browser/software support forums, they wouldn't be so tolerant of that kind of behavior. We all work very hard here and volunteer our time to support this piece of software. While I may really like Opera or FF, I would only cheer them on their own forums. Anyway, thanks for you rapid reply.

Regards,

~Eric

I'm not making any criticisms, complaints, or requests here, my friend. Just look at it from the viewpoint of the Avant support personel and follow your own conscience. I've never had the impression that you were a bad person or a troublemaker here at this forum in any way, so I'm sure you can understand our position and feelings about this. Keep in mind, though, that we are relatively liberal here and moderate with a light touch, so I don't think anyone would actually ask you to modify your avatar or sig... that's up to you. Thanks for listening.

Have a great weekend! :)
