own icons on toolbar

Post by pluimpje » Fri Sep 05, 2003 3:14 pm

Is there any way we can put icons on the avant toolbar ourselves.
I don't mean those which you can put on by going to cutomize buttons
I'm playing with Internet explorer toolbar and although i placed some icons of my own on the toolbar (like trillian) i don't see them on the avant toolbar.

How can i fix that?

That option isn't there yet.  I think it's been brought up though.
'Minimal collateral damage' and 'entire star system' do /not/ belong in the same sentence.

Just to help me understand.....

How in IE can you add your own icons without going to customize buttons?

Or are you saying just not what the AVANT version of customize buttons does?

Thanks,

I believe he's referring to the ability to add buttons that don't come standard in IE - such as the buttons for the various IM programs.
IBM PC XT, 8088 4.7Mhz, 512k RAM
360k DSDD FDD, 10 Meg HDD
Bell 103, Monochrome
PC-DOS 3.1

To put non-standard IE icons on the internet explorer toolbar, i use the shareware program ietoolbar manager
http://www.westbyte.com/ietool/index.phtml?lng=English

The yahoo, msn, trillian icons, etc.. i added in internet explorer are just experiments as i don't use IE anymore.
Since those new icons don't appear on the avant toolbar i was curious to know where it is we have to be if we want to make the same changes in avant browser.

That ability is not present yet, as is noted above.  What pluimpje was referring to was the ability to achieve it in IE.  That involves making changes to the Internet Explorer program, so it will have no effect on the Avant program.
