[request] " Paste and Go " option

Post by flowrush » Mon Sep 15, 2008 5:51 am

I see 'Paste and Go' in Maxthon, Opera, and Chrome. Can we get this option for Orca when inputting into the address bar?

-Thanks

there is one!!!

theres a small grey arrow pointing downwards on the right side of the url bar. Open that then click on "From clipboard"....is that what you are asking for?

Yea, I hadnt thought about that.. But Quantzie is right.. The "From clipboard" option on the new window dropdown menu does work almost the same way as "Paste and Go".. But, the only difference is you have to open whatever is on the clipboard in a new tab in order for it to work.. You can have it open up in the current tab..

Hrm I see that now. Honestly right-clicking in the address bar then left clicking paste and go seems more natural for me, rather than having to navigate over to the right side of the address bar to this button then navigate down the menu.

I can't seem to get that to work in a new tab that opens up as a blank tab, which is what I have my settings on. The green arrow button simply greys out...

That button is grayed out because you havent typed anything in the address bar. Since that button has always been used to do the same thing the enter button does when your typing the address up until the drop down on that button was added that is.. So if theres nothing in the address bar to then its supposed to be grayed out.. but I guess now that it has a drop down, it shouldnt be grayed out anymore..

Why dont you file a bug report about it.

Ctrl-C only copies the address it doesn't paste it and it doesn't navigate to that address on its own.

Ctrl + Shift + N will instanly open a new tab from whatever you have in the clipboard. I've always used it on Avant and works fine on Orca too.
