Ahttp.exe local port usage

Post by cgirlz » Sat Jan 10, 2004 9:16 pm

Can anyone explain why ahttp.exe needs to use a different local port to send information for every website that is accessed? This means that firewalls have to be configured allow access for ahttp.exe on all local ports. From some of the chatter I am seeing, it seems that some users get a bit paranoid from this activity.

Well, not that I don't trust it or anything, but I blocked it from using the Internet... I don't care for favicons, and it doesn't need the net to make avant more stable.
