My graphics card and drivers are also not to blame, 9800GTX 512MB with several drivers updates since. I'm on 64bit windows and I have Aero enabled however. The computer never sleeps but it is restarted daily.

I get this problem on a daily basis. I notice it happening most frequently when Flash freezes on me for some reason. Lets say I resize a YouTube video, I might get a little bit of stutter, then I notice all my tabs have crashed. I've tried various versions of Flash including the beta's, it's been crashing for a few months at this stage.
How many times does this happen per day?
What's your firewall?
Does it only tend to appear on youtube?

How many times does this happen per day?
Anywhere from 1 to 6 times a day.
What's your firewall?
I don't have one.
Does it only tend to appear on Youtube?
No, I tend to notice it when I boot up my machine and start everything up. The first few pages can crash within the first minute of browsing, in some cases before I even get one page open. It's a capable PC, so it's definitely above the specifications required for Avant.

Works fine for me neo. That web page uses Silverlight, so make sure your up to date on it, that may be the problem....

OK, so first time few hours ago with the build 171 today, then later just few minutes ago - installation 1, then just a minute later - installation 1 and 2 at the same time (while reloading all tabs)! Perhaps important. It was on Avant forum "my posts" page.

Have you tried renaming the avant profiles and creating a new blank avant profiles folder? so that avant browser will start without firefox extensions, will the problem happen less often? keep us updated.

And build 172 fixed a problem that enabling silverlight caused firefox to crash, that may be the main cause of your problem.

Just upgraded Avant 2012 Ultimate build 171 to build 172, as before running in Firefox rendering mode. Would you believe that I got that dreaded error "Something went wrong with this webpage..." immediately upon launching Avant after the upgrade!

I have been getting it four or five times per day recently, which was with more than 60 tabs opened. I suspect that it might have as much (or mainly) to do with the the contents of one (or more) of the tabs, rather than the number of tabs open.

The build 172 announcement page http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic ... 36&t=31393 third row says: "[Fix][Gecko] Firefox.exe crashing problem aftering enabling silverlight" so it seems that somebody thought that an interaction between Avant Browser and Silverlight was the cause of these errors. Perhaps not?

Nevertheless, I still love using Avant! ... But also use native Firefox (a bit less than Avant).

Silverlight is definately part of the problem. At least, most has this plugin enabled, and this problem will cause the error on many sites. Another cause could be the the plugin-container.exe has crashed due to some plugin, so that all pages are affected. And I am not used to opening so many tabs, does the problem happen less often if you only open 20 tabs?

Ni hao, Jasmine! I tend to gradually accumulate five or six rows of tabs (50 or 60 or 70 web pages) over a period of a week or so, and leave them sitting there until I get time to continue working on some topic or theme (usually I arrange them in various groups of tabs). Really in terms of the "Getting Things Done (GTD)" methodology -- see http://www.davidco.com/faq/gtd-methodology-0 -- I should close most of them, since it takes me so long to ever get back to them -- I'm a born procrastinator!

I do, however, have the impression that having fewer tabs open usually means fewer occurrences of this particular error message. But there's always the possibility that just one or two of my dozens of opened tabs that are causing the problem (clashing with Silverlight, or whatever).

I'll try to work with fewer tabs opened, and see if I can draw any conclusions. This could be a hit-and-miss approach, and might prove to be inconclusive though.

If you want to reproduce it, open about 30 tabs, then open the facebook album with many pictures, just click to switch images, 100+ times.

Jasmine - I'll try that with the build 173.

Since I've upgraded my PC to an SSD, I haven't seen this error occur yet. It's been two weeks, whatever the issue is it's related to stalling.

The problem only happens when the memory usage goes up over 70% in my computer when for example I have opened more 70 pages. How about the cpu/memory usage in your computer before the lilac page happens?
