Multiple installations facebook issue

In build 171 the multi-installations bug has been fixed finally, but I've got one problem...

When I log in on facebook as user 1 in the first installation, then open second installation, log in as user 2, in the first installation user 1 is logged off or the user 2 is logged on.

I need to be logged in as 2 different users, it was working good with Avant+Orca, Orca1+Orca2 and I think also in old Avant1+Avant2, but it doesn't work anymore.

I tried to rename the second installation file avant.exe to avantplus.exe, but it's still the same.

Is there a way to log in as 2 different users in 2 different Avant installations at the same time?

Are you sure that each instance is using a different profile (ie portable mode)? If so, then try to set the Mozilla cache location for each Avant instance to a different location (the way that OrcaXtra automatically did so). The setting can be found at: about:config >> browser.cache.disk.parent_directory

Yes, I am sure that each installation is using a different profile. I'm using FF engine. I tried to find that option, but it's not there, I found just few browser.cache.disk.<something>. I think such option would help, just need to find it...

Hey Dreamer, I'm well thank you - hope all is good with you too.

The setting needs to be created:
- Go to about:config
- Right click the panel and select: New >> String
- Preference name: browser.cache.disk.parent_directory
- Set it to another folder, ie: D:\Temp\Instance2\
- Restart Avant

If it works, let me know and I'll update OrcaXtra to use with Avant.

OK, so it looks the Avant options are independent, but Firefox settings are same for both installations, strange. I have changed one about:config option in installation 1 and it has been changed also in installation 2.

So the portable bug is still not fixed! Is it possible to use 2 independent installations with 2 independent FF settings? If so, how?

You are correct, I have just tested it and it does use the same profile, it can be checked in about:cache

I have just done some preliminary tests on an OrcaXtra replacement and it works here. If I am able to test it successfully on some systems other than XP then I shall release it.

I am ready to test on Vista 32 bit, I've got the backup of all installations, both settings, Avant and FF, so it would be no problem for me.

However, I think it's a bug - and it should be fixed.

With the build 22, when I run second installation (not instance, new USB portable folder), both installations crash immediately (lilac pages) - always! I can always reproduce this, after PC restart, after both AB installations restart.

Even single installation of the versions 2013 (build 22 and older) crash much more often than the last build of 2012 version.

Run one ultimate version and one USB version at the same time? They both use IE engine?
Do you use " -runextra" parameter in the ultimate version?

I run 2 different USB versions at the same time, they are in the different folders and they both use FF engine. I use -runextra parameter for both.

Related issue - versions 2013 crash (lilac pages) much more often than last build of 2012 version - I mean 10 times more often, especially on flash games and flash content.

Thanks for the tip, but this is useless for me. I could use any other browser instead, it's the same.

I'm using Avant because of auto-save tabs on exit feature and I need TWO INSTALLATIONS which both auto-save their own last opened tabs - so 30 tabs for installation #1 and 15 tabs for installation #2. Tabs / pages are linked with the facebook account, so I need 2 different installations.

And sometimes I want to open only installation #2 with less tabs opened, so the "New session feature" is really completely useless for me, sorry.

OK, it happened again, I started AB installation #1, close it, then started Inst. #2, closed, firefox.exe did not closed correctly in task manager (I didn't know that), then I started AB installation #1 again, result lilac pages, unable to refresh any page, closed AB, killed firefox.exe in task manager, started AB #1 again, tabs-pages loaded correctly, but the tab order is completely messed up.

(Already reported elsewhere, but it's related with this issue too, perhaps it's important for this issue)
