Will we have a stable version for Vista?

Post by BobbyN » Wed Aug 29, 2007 8:56 pm

i am using the last version .. but any version I have had is crashing on Vista. It starts with flickering of the window and this continues until you stop Avant with Task manager. Any other way for colsing does not work!
So ... will anybody give some information?

are you using build 20? is your vista up to date w/ updates?

i dont have any crashing problems with 11. 5 build 20 though it sometimes freezes 2-3 secs. even using firefox sometimes it does not respond or hangs up. so i guess it has something to do with vista than avant.

all in all i can say that avant build 20 is very stable on vista.

could you provide screenshots next time if it happens again.

Hmm, Im sorry your having so much trouble with Avant on Vista. I've been using Avant with Vista before Vista was ever final and never had any problem like that. Its very weird that results like that can vary from computer to computer.

Both Vista and Avant are updated to last available versions/updates. It interesting that somethimes it stops respondng and never returns to normal contidion. IE does not have these problems, but I like Avant more for many reasons... but to be honest after 4-5 consecutive crashes I seriously think about moving to IE.
This flickering appears mostly when I open more than 5 windows... used memory increases to ~90-120 MB .. and the only way to stop this is "End Process" ...
And can anybody tell me how to download Favorites back to my computer - I am using online storage.

Here is a screenshot but its flickering and is totally not under control ... the only thing you can do is End Process (in Task Manager) - forget about colsing in normal way.

As it's easy to see there is no toolbars or menu .. nothing only rflickers and changes opened pages

This was written 3 times because of the crashes of the Avant. Annoying .. but all my favorites are in the online storage and I have no choice and continue using Avant ... I don't know how long ... it was really good browser
