Outlook + AB
Just a minor bug report, when clicking links in Outlook, previously they launched in Avant. Now however, whilst Avant correctly takes focus when a link is clicked, it fails to actually process it (no new tab is created and the link is no longer opened).
The same goes when I click a link in the Great News RSS reader
I've confirmed this on Vista Home Premium SP2 w/IE8 and the latest SR of v11.7 build 35

Re: Outlook + AB
Hello,
What version of Outlook? x86 or x64?
Can't seem to confirm with Outlook 2010 x64.
Have you tried to run SetDefault.exe?

Re: Outlook + AB
Doesn't seem to matter (thought it's x86 w/2003), as the same problem occurs when clicking links in ALL applications outside of Avant (e.g. Great News (my RSS reader), WLM etc etc

Re: Outlook + AB
And yep, already set Avant as the default browser.
As mentioned, Avant takes focus as it normally does when a link is clicked, as though it's going to open the URL - but it fails to create a new tab for it, and fails to open the link clicked.

Re: Outlook + AB
I've not tested it on the server (servers are not meant to be used for surfing, so no point).
And yep, UAC is enabled - and again, it was enabled with previous versions that did NOT show this behaviour. Additionally, Opera works just fine when set as default, as does IE. It's only Avant that's affected.

Re: Outlook + AB
I couldn't understand this:
I've tried to test by resetting IE as default browser and then setting Avant as default and all the links are working fine.
Anyway, I'm unable to confirm this here.thought it's x86 w/2003

Re: Outlook + AB
Seems to me, like it's more a bug with Outlook and not Avant. Just on pure guess; Outlook seems to have been using the wrong command line. If you tried to run a second Avant Browser, the new avant.exe will cancel startup, and bring the current Avant Browser into focus. Which is what it seems like was happening, when Avant brought itself into focus. However if the command line isn't specific enough or if there is no command line, the new avant.exe won't parse it as a URL, and it won't pass it off the already existing Avant. Whereas maybe IE might not have to be so specific, and maybe it uses regex or just a more advance command line parser.
So I guess it's an Avant bug (flaw?) in that the command line has to be too specific, but anyone who experiences this might resolve it by updating Office/Outlook.
(sorry for the hipocritical know it all theory)

Re: Outlook + AB
Some Windows Live Messenger web based help screens don't open correctly in Avant. Avant comes into focus like MysteryFCM explains, but the site fails to open. Works fine if IE is the default browser.

Re: Outlook + AB
I've realized, I actually can't open any links using Windows 7, with Avant as the default browser. If I try to open any HTML file with Avant, I get the same results as explained by MysteryFCM.
Can someone else with Windows 7 confirm this?
