Avant hang with some websites

when I open some websites . Avant hang for around 1 minutes then release

I get this as well. Some sites hang Avant and you just have to sit and wait for it to start working again

http://www.dogpile.com is another example. This search engine used to work fine on Avant.

I just updated 11.7 build 15, even reinstalled three times now to see if that was the issue. I'm having this issue on You Tube and a few other sites also. (not to mention a few other headaches). Thought I'd check if it was mentioned before I posted on them all at once. I'm starting to wish I had not upgraded. The only issue I had with the other version was it freezing on me.

Just try ( TheWorld Browser ) ! You will see the difference on speed and hanging even if you have open same tabs

I've experieinced hanging at some websites with a lot of flash media on it.

Same freezing here. And it seems to be only sites with flash. It doesn't matter what version of flash. And this has happened for all the Avant versions I can remember. Works fine in IE7. I even tested Firefox, works fine. So I don't think it is a site problem. An example when it happens everytime in Avant is when I go to almost any Adobe site such as:

For me, it seems to be getting worse. Avant freezes up and crashes, then Vista complains something went wrong with Avant.

i too get this when accessing or downloading drivers from the HP site.


I ahve formatted my machine installed IE 7 and all updates and i have Windows XP SP3 installed. I am running the latest version of Avant but damn it takes aroudn 10secs to unfreeze.

I have the ad blocker off and it still freezes on me, more than 10 secs too. It's annoying. I thought it was fixed with all that I did, but the freezing is still the one annoying issue.

Can't confirm.
Do you have the same prolbem with IE? Do you have any IE addons enabled in Avant? (Please go to Tools>Avant Browser Options...>Add-ons to find out)

For me I've been getting heavy hanging on sites where Avant is blocking a flash (.swf) popup (both Pop-up blockers are enabled). Sites like http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index?bhcp=1 seem to bring it to its knees at times. Additionally Avant does not work with QuakeLive Beta when I try to configure control key's it does not recognize input from my keystrokes. Tested in IE7 -no issues, keystrokes are detected.

During tests with Avant Browser Version: 11.7 build 18 I only had problems with http://www.juicycouture.com/shoponline/ ... /prodY055U when I had 'Disable Scripts' and http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ requires Scripts as well as flash animations enabled. http://media.winamp.com/ no longer appears to be a valid site http://www.winamp.com appears to work ok.

I've also had a lot more issues with Avant freezing whilst using the current version - 11.7.18 - than any other for a long time.

I usually have to shutdown Avant in Task Manager and reload the page.

The sites it actually occurs on seems random.

if i browsed this site through IE it works smoothly, no hangs. I have no addons in Advant selected, the only thing i have on is the popup blocker

I seem to be having the same problem with browser hanging and crashs on different sites. verison 11.7 built 18
