Windows don't render properly after resizing
When I resize a tab window, the window's borders don't render properly and look like computer garbage with strange lines. It doesn't happen all of the time but it does happen most of the time since I updraded to version 2012.

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
Will I lose all of my bookmarks and autofills doing a clean install?xiaobing wrote:How did you update Avant browser? Cover installation?

Do I have to export the bookmarks first then import them back in after the clean install?
Can autofills be exported and imported?

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
I backed up my bookmarks and autofills, uninstalled Avant and removed its program folders and profiles, did a clean install, and managed to reload my bookmarks and autofills. The rendering problem still happens. What do I try next?xiaobing wrote:How did you update Avant browser? Cover installation?

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
It happens when my PC isn't busy at all. I even just installed Avant for the first time on a friend's Vista laptop and it happens there as well. It's a real nusiance as I always have several tabs going at once and I resize the windows a lot. I have to minimize then restore the problem windows for them to render properly and I'm getting tired of it. I'm probably going to go back to an older version of Avant that renders windows properly or another browser altogether if this doesn't get fixed soon. I've been a Vista user for years and have recommended it to everyone I could, but it's really letting me down now.AbelAbel wrote:ehamady wrote:When I resize a tab window, the window's borders don't render properly and look like computer garbage with strange lines. Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
After you dropped the restored window (finished moving and released your mouse), the the window's borders still have problem?

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
I usually have 4 windows up at once and sized so they don't overlap so I can see all of them. For example, I may display football, hockey, basketball, and golf scoreboard windows. The border rendering problem happens as I resize and move each window into place. To get the borders to display properly at that point, I have to click the Minimize and Restore buttons on the Management Bar for each window/tab.xiaobing wrote:After you dropped the restored window (finished moving and released your mouse), the the window's borders still have problem?
Not sure I answered your question.

I also had this problem in 2012 build 6 in my win7, but it has been fixed in build 7 .Not sure if it still persists in vista.

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
all i can say is that i had vista for one day i went back to xp now about to use windows 7 64 bit so maby you should upgrade to windows 7 i have also seen that i don't know when .But windows 8 is coming very soon so i am told and read it some where . Or if you have a xp disk u could go back to it . So this is only my opinion after trying to use vista .

Re: Windows don't render properly after resizing
I wouldn't change the OS just to accommodate a browser. The only problem Avant is giving me is this window rendering issue. All will be well once it's fixed for Vista. If it isn't fixed soon then I'll just switch to another browser, which would be a shame since I've always been such a staunch advocate of Avant and turned so many people on to it. I'll give the programmers another week to fix it. If they can't fix it by then it just may be time to move on to a different browser experience.AXEMAN wrote:all i can say is that i had vista for one day i went back to xp now about to use windows 7 64 bit so maby you should upgrade to windows 7 i have also seen that i don't know when .But windows 8 is coming very soon so i am told and read it some where . This may not be your problem, Vista users should be aware of tcp auto tuning problems. view http://www.mydigitallife.info/disable-t ... -in-vista/
